Spanish football club Valencia confirmed on Tuesday that Spanish police have arrested its striker Rafa Mir on charges of sexual assault.
The club issued the statement after Spanish media reported Mir's arrest.
Valencia said he was "aware of the reported arrest" and would cooperate with authorities.
Spanish media reported that the Civil Guard in Valencia arrested Mir after accusations from the woman who is considered his alleged victim.
Mir (27 years old) joined Valencia this season on loan from Sevilla.
