Turkey's ASELSAN: We are determined to share the Steel Dome with allied countries

The General Manager of the Turkish defense industry company "ASELSAN", Ahmet Akyol, said that they are determined to share the local air defense system "Steel Dome" with friendly and allied countries after its completion in Turkey.

In statements on the sidelines of the Egypt International Air Show yesterday, Thursday, Akyol pointed out that they felt proud to see the Turkish company "Tusas" "Hurjet" aircraft flying in the skies of Egypt, noting that "Aselsan" provides the electronic systems and ammunition for this aircraft and similar local aircraft.

“We are here to showcase the level we have reached in our products to international partners, stakeholders in Egypt, and those interested in the region,” said the general manager of ASELSAN.

“We are here to open the door to new cooperation and to contribute to strengthening this positive atmosphere in Turkish-Egyptian relations through the new cooperation opportunities that we will start,” Akyol added, noting that the exhibition provided them with an opportunity to showcase the “Steel Dome” system on the international stage along with the solutions they provide for aerial platforms.

The spokesman explained that the Steel Dome brought together Turkish companies' products from radars, communication systems, friend and foe identification systems, and from drone protection systems to low, medium and high altitude air defense systems.

He stressed their keenness to share the "Steel Dome" system with friendly and allied countries, after its completion in Turkey. He stated that "ASELSAN" was able to rise to the 42nd place in the list of global defense industry companies last year, and that it is one of the 10 fastest growing defense industry companies in the world.

The Egypt International Air Show was held at El Alamein International Airport from September 3 to 5, with the participation of 100 countries, including Turkey.

On August 6, the Defense Industry Executive Committee, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, decided to develop the “Steel Dome” project to enhance the security of Turkish airspace.

Within the framework of this project, Turkish defense industry companies Aselsan, Roketsan, MKE, and Tubitak Saga are cooperating to implement the “Steel Dome” project, which is described as a “system of systems” because it combines several systems and weapons with different features and powers.
