A foreign activist with American citizenship was killed today, Friday, by Israeli occupation army bullets in the town of Beita in the Nablus Governorate, north of the occupied West Bank.
The director of Rafidia Governmental Hospital, Fouad Nafaa, said that an American citizen arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head She was resuscitated but died.
Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupation army fired live bullets at Palestinians while they were participating in an activity denouncing settlements on Mount Sabih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
In turn, the official Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that the activist holds American citizenship and volunteers within the “Faz’a” campaign to support and protect Palestinian farmers from the violations of the occupation and settlers.
The residents of Beita organize a weekly march after Friday prayers to denounce Israeli settlements and demand the evacuation of the Avitar settlement built on the summit of Mount Sabih.
In turn, the Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the killing of a Turkish citizen by the Israeli occupation army in the occupied West Bank, and stressed that Israeli officials and those who support them will be held accountable before international courts.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: "We learned with great sadness that our citizen Aisha Nour Ezgi Eji was killed by Israeli occupation soldiers in the city of Nablus in the West Bank."
The statement mourned the Turkish citizen, saying: “We condemn the killing committed by the Netanyahu government, and we ask God to have mercy on our citizen who lost her life, and we offer our condolences to her family.”
The statement added that Israel is trying to intimidate anyone who comes to help the Palestinians and fights peacefully against genocide, warning that this policy of violence will not yield results.
The statement stressed that Israeli officials are committing crimes against humanity and those who support them unconditionally will be held accountable before international courts.
Since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have escalated their attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
During these attacks, the army and settlers killed at least 691 Palestinians and injured more than 5,700, while the army arrested more than 10,400, according to official Palestinian data.
