Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz's motorcade was involved in a car accident while heading to a campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Politico magazine reported that the incident occurred on Monday, and that Walz was not injured.
During the rally, Walz said at the beginning of his speech: “We have spoken to the staff, and I am happy to say that with some minor injuries, everyone will be fine.” He also thanked the ambulance and the Secret Service for their “quick reaction” and urgent response.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. local time, with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' campaign saying she spoke to Walz shortly after the incident and that he was not injured.
The campaign explained that the cars near the back of the motorcade were involved in the accident, not in the front where Walz's car, who also serves as governor of Minnesota, was located.
The magazine reported that according to a reporter who was in Walz's convoy, a member of the accompanying crew, who was in a small truck carrying journalists, was injured and received treatment from paramedics.
