On September 3, Md Touhid Hossain, Bangladesh's foreign adviser, said that the issue of Rohingya repatriation needs to be linked with the Army (AA).
Local news reported that he said there was a need to open a channel of communication between the Arakan Army (AA), which controls many parts of Rakhine State, and the Bangladesh government.
But he said that we have to wait and see how much can be done at the state level.
He also pointed out that eight thousand more Rohingyas have arrived in Bangladesh due to the current fighting in Rakhine State.
The news reports that there is an urgent discussion within the Bangladesh government regarding the arrival of more Rohingyas and that they will prevent further arrivals.
He said that despite the humanitarian sympathy for the fleeing Rohingya, the Bangladesh side is no longer able to support them.
