Police confirmed that former Malaysian Deputy Minister Datuk Mashitah Ibrahim, who is being investigated for his involvement with Myanmar's human trafficking gangs, is still in Myanmar.
The leader of Malaysia's CID said that he is in Myanmar to invest in real estate, according to Stratein News today.
The fact that there is a connection with human trafficking gangs operating in Myawati, Karen State, is still under investigation. They say they are looking for information.
The Malaysian International Humanitarian Organization filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Commission last week to investigate the former deputy minister and her husband.
They are also accused of being involved in the Dongmei Park business, an online scam in Karen State. The former Deputy Minister of Malaysia has denied these issues.
Malaysian police have said that they will prevent involvement in human trafficking and will take legal action if they are found to be involved.
