Turkey appreciates mediation efforts by the United States, Qatar and Egypt to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the release of detainees, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The statement said that Turkey supports the implementation of the issues included in the tripartite statement (Egypt, Qatar, United States) issued on Thursday.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that the three-stage plan included in UN Security Council Resolution 2735 constitutes an appropriate basis for peace.
The ministry stressed that Israel should also show a constructive position towards the Palestinians regarding the ceasefire.
In this context, she pointed out that the international community must exert the necessary pressure on Netanyahu's government.
Biden, Sisi and bin Hamad called in a joint statement on Thursday on Israel and Hamas to participate in a final round of negotiations next week to complete a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
"It is time to put an end to the long-standing suffering of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as well as of the hostages and their families," the statement said. "It is time to conclude the ceasefire agreement and release the hostages and detainees."
The three leaders stressed that there is a framework agreement on the table and all that remains is to finalize the details of its implementation.
"No more time should be wasted and no party should make any excuses for further delay," they said.
"We have called on the two sides to resume urgent talks on Thursday, August 15, in Doha or Cairo to bridge all remaining gaps and start implementing the agreement without any delay," they added.
