"Temporary media gain" US general assesses the situation of Ukrainian forces after the attack on Kursk

Retired US General Daniel Davis assessed the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the attack on the Russian Kursk region.

"It doesn't matter when the conflict ends, whether soon or in a few months, in the end Russia will win. This is the basic logic of war," Davis wrote on his X account.

Despite the "media hype," the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in Kursk has not and will not change the situation on the front, Davis added.

He pointed out that the price that the Kiev regime will pay for invading Russian territory will be very high, and will only accelerate the final collapse of Ukraine.

“Ignorant analysts in the US are already claiming that the attack could shift Russia’s position to a defensive one. In my estimation, Russia is embarrassed and upset and may change its timing for future operations, but the cost to Ukrainian forces will be huge because of this temporary media gain,” he continued.

Earlier,  the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced that the regime of counter-terrorism operations has been introduced in 3 Russian border regions  due to the increased level of terrorist threats from Ukraine.

Russian authorities reported on Saturday that about 76,000 people had been evacuated from the border areas of Kursk that were affected or threatened by the Ukrainian attack.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation in the Kursk region, stated that the Kiev regime had carried out another large-scale provocation, firing indiscriminately, including at civilian targets. The official spokeswoman for the Russian Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko, reported that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the border area in the Kursk region, cases were opened on charges of terrorism and murder, and Russian investigators are now identifying the Ukrainian servicemen who gave orders to strike civilian targets in the region.
