The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, Thursday, that its forces thwarted and repelled several Ukrainian attacks on the Kursk axis, inflicting losses on the enemy of up to 300 soldiers during the past day.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that units of the Northern Group of Forces repelled attacks by enemy assault groups in the direction of the towns of Komarovka and Malaya Lukhnya, and thwarted attempts to attack in the direction of Korenyevo, Krymyannoye, Martynovka, Olgovka and Russkoye Porechnoye, killing and wounding more than 45 Ukrainian soldiers, and destroying a tank and 4 armored combat vehicles.
The statement said that a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was eliminated west of the village of Skrylivka, where 7 soldiers were killed and one soldier was captured.
According to the statement, Russian air strikes and artillery fire targeted concentrations of troops and equipment of 10 enemy brigades and battalions in a number of areas of the Ukrainian border province of Sumy, adjacent to Kursk.
The statement said that the daily losses of Ukrainian forces on the Kursk axis exceeded 300 soldiers and included 23 pieces of equipment, including 3 tanks.
Thus, the total number of Ukrainian losses in Kursk since the beginning of the fighting has reached more than 4,700 soldiers, 68 tanks, 27 infantry fighting vehicles, 53 armored personnel carriers, in addition to 10 rocket launchers, including 3 HIMARS and one MLRS, and other weapons and equipment.
