Location: US Army transfers more than 80 Abrams tanks to Poland

The Polish website interia.pl said that the US Army has transferred more than 80 M1A2 Abrams tanks to the Powidzyz military base in central Poland.

According to data obtained by the site, all of these tanks were transferred to Poland from American bases in Germany.

Available reports also indicate that the US military has moved there about 150 Bradley armored personnel carriers and 20 M109 self-propelled guns.

It is noteworthy that American equipment began arriving at the Povidze base in April 2023.

According to the site, we are talking here about the latest American tanks of the model

 M1A2 Sep v3, which features a modified turret with enhanced armor and more modern electronics.

The website confirmed that the tanks at the Powidze base are owned by the US Army, and the purpose of deploying them there is to strengthen NATO's eastern flank. It is known that the Polish Army also owns Abrams tanks.

Poland had already signed a contract to supply 250 Abrams tanks from the United States, then purchased an additional 116 tanks of this model, while it also signed a contract to purchase 1,000 K2 tanks from South Korea.

At the beginning of 2023, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that the first American Abrams tanks would arrive in Poland in the spring of that year.
