Algerian Civil Protection announced on Monday evening that two fires had been recorded on the border strip with Tunisia in the state of El Tarf, where the extinguishing operation began with the air squadron.
The source explained that the first fire was recorded in a forest in the village of Al-Fuhais, Al-Karma Municipality.
He added that the second fire broke out in the Asassa Forest in the municipality of Bouhadjar.
The same source confirmed that the intervention teams were reinforced by the mobile convoy of the state of El Tarf and the regional detachment of the state of El Tarf, in addition to three AT802 firefighting aircraft.
In a related context, the wave of fires continues, especially in the states of Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia in the Kabylie region and a number of states in the east of the country.
