The United States remains deeply concerned about the ongoing conflict in Sudan and unequivocally condemns those involved, White House spokesman John Kirby said on Thursday.
He added that more than 25 million people face unacceptable levels of food insecurity, and almost the entire country is facing violence.
He went on to say that the United States calls on the fighters to stop attacks on innocent civilians and allow humanitarian aid to reach them.
Sudan has been witnessing violent fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since mid-April 2023 due to political and security differences, resulting in about 13,900 deaths, more than 8 million displaced and refugees , and a deteriorating humanitarian situation, according to the United Nations.
