The White House announced that Apple has agreed to comply with US authorities' recommendations regarding security when designing artificial intelligence technologies.
On Friday, the White House published a report on the US administration’s work to implement the presidential decree issued 9 months ago, on the need to monitor the risks posed by artificial intelligence, the responsible position towards developing these technologies, and the need for them to be tested by independent experts and government agencies.
The White House noted that since last year, 15 major tech companies, including Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, have made voluntary commitments to be responsible in developing artificial intelligence.
Apple's pledge to make similar commitments was announced on the eve of its launch of Apple Intelligence, expected this fall.
It is noteworthy that the White House recommendations in the field of reducing the risks of artificial intelligence to US national security and user security are not considered mandatory and do not have legal force.
