The Advance newspaper reported that the West, against the backdrop of Ukrainian military failures, may decide to lift the ban on Ukrainian forces targeting Russian territory.
The newspaper reported: Under the current situation, there is only one attempt left, after which Washington will have to admit that ideas have been exhausted.
"What is this about? It is the plan that Kiev has been putting forward for a long time, which is that Ukraine will receive as much Western military support as possible, while removing all restrictions on its strikes on Russian territory," she added.
"This actually means that Ukraine will get a green light to strike Russia with all available means: aircraft, artillery, missiles and at different ranges," she continued.
The newspaper also noted that the Ukrainian strikes are unlikely to change the situation on the battlefield: “Is there any kind of military logic to this, or does Kiev just want to try everything it has not tried yet? Most likely, the final plan is to give Ukraine its last chance, let it get what it wants, and wait for the results that will result from this adventure.”
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that representatives of NATO countries should realize "what they are playing with" when they talk about plans that would allow Kiev to strike targets inside Russian territory.
