UN: 150,000 displaced in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, in one day

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Tuesday that 150,000 people in Khan Yunis were displaced in just one day, following evacuation orders from the Israeli occupation army.

Dujarric explained, in his daily press conference, that all "Israeli evacuation orders turn people's lives upside down," stressing that the Israeli occupation army's request for evacuation at very short notice by sending leaflets before the attack "increases the risks to people's lives."

Dujarric said that 150,000 people were forced to flee Khan Yunis in just Monday, noting that people were forced to flee without taking anything with them, indicating the lack of infrastructure in the areas to which the displaced headed.

Yesterday, Monday, the occupation army issued orders to the Palestinians in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis to "immediately evacuate" and head towards the newly created humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi, west of the city.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been waging a war on Gaza, resulting in more than 129,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and deadly famine.

Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice orders to end the invasion of the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.
