A Gofundme page was set up to raise money for the victims of the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. It had raised about $177,000 within 12 hours of the incident, with 2,300 people donating.
The platform's website states that the goal was to raise $1 million. Nearly 15,000 people participated in the fundraising campaign, with the largest amount reaching $50,000.
Trump was the target of an assassination attempt when he was shot while giving a speech during an election rally for his supporters in Pennsylvania yesterday, Saturday.
Trump was shot in the ear, another person next to him was killed, and two others were injured, while the Secret Service men were able to eliminate the shooter.
