Tips to prevent pimples in the summer

Feeling warm and glowing in the sun can be great, but some people may experience more breakouts than usual in the summer, so be careful with different methods.

There are a number of things that can damage your skin, from pore-clogging SPF to chemicals and chlorine from swimming in artificial pools.

In this regard, Dr. Sonia Khurana, a dermatologist, shared some tips to avoid pimples in hot weather.

The expert explained that increased hydration can lead to "production of more oil," which will lead to the appearance of pimples on the skin.

“You should cleanse your skin twice a day (preferably with a cleanser that contains salicylic acid), make sure to moisturize your skin, and choose a moisturizer that does not contain oils,” Khorana recommended.

Sonia advised that you should use a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and sun protection factor (SPF).

However, if you find that your sunscreen is damaging your skin, the expert suggests looking for a physical-based cream rather than a chemical one that contains ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

“Seek shade when appropriate,” says Khorana.

She also advised avoiding heavy makeup and choosing oil-free makeup. She recommends using a gentle body cleanser and making sure to moisturize with a moisturizer that contains soothing ingredients such as glycerin.
