Tips to combat gastritis

Russian nutritionist Dr. Alexei Bereznikov revealed the foods that help overcome gastritis, and how to reduce stomach acidity.

“Gastroenterologists usually recommend patients to drink milk if they do not have an allergic reaction. You can also eat non-acidic dairy products, non-acidic cottage cheese, but low-fat cottage cheese is not recommended. The fat content should not be less than 9 percent or even 18. This is possible if there is no atherosclerosis and high cholesterol. Doctors also recommend eating cream. The diet should include poultry (chicken, turkey) and beef: mostly boiled and stewed,” the expert told RIA Novosti.

According to him, fish is also suitable for fighting gastritis, but it should not be cooked in a large amount of fat. Oatmeal porridge with milk also coats the gastric mucosa.

The expert points out that foods that increase the production of gastric juice should be excluded. These include: concentrated and fatty broths. Because they contain a large amount of extracts that stimulate the secretion of gastric juice; red, white, black pepper. Because even a small amount of piperine causes increased secretion of gastric juice. All spices and hot seasonings should also be excluded, because on the one hand they improve appetite and on the other hand increase the extract of foods.

In case of gastritis, you should follow a meal plan: four to five times a day and in small quantities. It is preferable to eat the same dish, without taking drinks into account.
