The US Embassy in Beirut renewed its warning to American citizens on Monday against traveling to Lebanon, urging them to review the instructions in light of the current situation in the country.
“The embassy urges U.S. citizens traveling to and from Lebanon to closely monitor the status of their flights, be aware that flight paths may change with little or no warning, and make alternate plans,” the embassy said in a statement.
The statement added: "The US Embassy in Beirut asks American citizens to review the instructions that strongly urge them to reconsider travel to Lebanon due to the war that could break out at any moment and the Lebanese state does not have the ability to protect American citizens."
Recently, many regional and European countries announced their intention to evacuate their nationals from Lebanon due to conditions that threaten to escalate the confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah that have been ongoing for months.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, Abdullah Bou Habib, called for replacing statements warning against travel to Lebanon issued by some brotherly and friendly countries with positions of solidarity, and for intensifying efforts and pressures on Israel .
It's highlighting the volatile situation.
