Adults and the elderly should review their diet and exclude some food groups according to the requirements of the body, which with age becomes more selective.
Russian nutritionist Dr. Mariat Mukhina points out that the products that are not recommended to be eaten together are meat and potatoes, because the dish contains heavy nutrients such as protein in the form of meat, and a starchy “bomb” of carbohydrates.
According to her, even a young stomach cannot handle such a heavy load, especially if these foods are fried. As we age, enzyme production decreases, which makes it difficult to absorb nutrients, and thus we feel heavy.
She says: “If a person cannot do without meat, it is better to boil it. As for potatoes, it is better to exclude them completely, and replace them with cooked vegetables or quinoa.
The expert advises against drinking a banana milk cocktail, because the banana in this drink turns into a mucous substance that can hinder intestinal peristalsis. However, eating a banana alone and chewing it slowly, when it reaches the stomach, it will have been broken down by the enzymes in saliva. For the same reason, it is not recommended to drink coffee, milk and orange juice for breakfast, because it reduces the effectiveness of stomach enzymes, especially if the person has eaten porridge before.
