The number of martyrs in Gaza is approaching 39 thousand and the occupation commits 4 massacres in one day

The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues for the 288th consecutive day, amidst shelling in various populated areas, while the occupation committed 4 massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip during the past twenty-four hours, resulting in 37 martyrs and 54 injuries.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 38,919 martyrs and 89,622 wounded since October 7, while a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.

The official Palestinian news agency (WAFA) said that 6 civilians were killed at dawn on Saturday, as a result of an Israeli attack on the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, while 6 others were killed and 10 wounded in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of the city, and were transferred to the Baptist Hospital, while the search for the missing is still ongoing.

In Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, 6 citizens were martyred today, Saturday, including a journalist and his family, as a result of an attack by the occupation warplanes that bombed another house in the Zarqa area in northern Gaza, which led to the martyrdom of two citizens and the injury of others.

The Nuseirat camp, in the middle of the Gaza Strip, also witnessed intensive shelling today, Saturday, which resulted in the martyrdom of 4 members of the same family, including two children, in addition to 15 wounded. Three citizens were martyred, and others were wounded, in a house in the Bureij camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip, while the occupation forces targeted another house in the camp that was inhabited by residents.

In the southern Gaza Strip, the occupation forces bombed residential neighborhoods west of Rafah city, coinciding with the occupation artillery shelling of the eastern areas of Khan Yunis city, which targeted a martyr riding a bicycle.

The necessity of a two-state solution

The United Nations said that its Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, will refer the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice to the General Assembly, regarding procedures related to the legal consequences arising from Israel's policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

Guterres stressed in a statement issued by the United Nations last night the need for "the parties to re-engage in the long-awaited political process towards ending the occupation and resolving the conflict in line with international law, relevant United Nations resolutions and bilateral agreements."

“The only viable path is a vision of two states – Israel and a fully independent, democratic, contiguous, viable and sovereign Palestinian state – living side by side in peace and security within secure and recognized borders, based on the pre-1967 lines, with Jerusalem as the capital of both states,” he said.

On Friday, the International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion in which it called on the UN Security Council and General Assembly to take measures to end the occupation and put an end as soon as possible to the illegal presence of the State of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that the Palestinians have the right to self-determination and the necessity of evacuating Israeli settlements on the occupied territories.

Hamas said on Saturday that Israel's continuation of its war of extermination and killing of dozens of civilians in the past 24 hours is a "practical response to the opinion of the International Court of Justice." The movement explained in its statement that hours after the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice deemed the Israeli occupation "illegal," Israel bombed a number of homes.

Hamas called on the United Nations to take immediate action to stop the Israeli series of terrorism and crimes, and called for "obligating the occupation to abide by international resolutions calling for an end to the aggression, the siege, and the Nazi starvation policy."

The Israeli occupation continues the war, ignoring the Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
