The difference between ripe bananas and green bananas

Weight loss specialist Dr. Pavel Isinbaev revealed the difference between ripe bananas and green bananas, and which one diabetics should avoid eating.

“Ripped bananas are sweeter and more delicious than unripe bananas because they are softer, which means they are easier to digest, which is important for people with sensitive digestion. They are also rich in antioxidants, which have a positive effect on the body - protecting against aging and stress,” the specialist says.

Unripe (green) bananas contain resistant starch, which helps heal the gut, improve the microbiome, lower bad cholesterol, improve insulin sensitivity, and even reduce the risk of colon cancer.

“Higher starch means lower sugar, so green bananas are ideal for people with high blood sugar and diabetes. They also have probiotic properties, which help improve the gut microbiome,” he says.

According to him, bananas can be eaten alternately, but in case of high blood sugar levels, it is better to eat only green bananas.
