US Congressman Lloyd Doggett called on US President Joe Biden to withdraw from the elections, expressing his hope that this decision will be made immediately.
Texas Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett became the first member of the House of Representatives to call on US President Joe Biden to withdraw from the election.
“President Biden saved our democracy by ridding us of Trump in 2020, and he should not hand us over to Trump in 2024,” Lloyd Doggett said in a statement. “Former President Lyndon Johnson, who announced that he would not run for president for the good of America and to open the way for new candidates to run the country, made the painful decision to withdraw, and Biden should do the same.”
"I hope he makes the difficult and painful decision to withdraw, and I respectfully ask him to do so immediately," he added.
He pointed out that "Biden worked hard for the good of the United States, but he is now behind his predecessor Donald Trump in the polls , and the debates that took place did not change the situation." He explained that "Biden must seize the opportunity to strengthen a new generation of leaders by choosing an alternative candidate."
American journalist Tucker Carlson believes that representatives of the Democratic Party will replace US President Joe Biden with another candidate to participate in the presidential elections.
He's advocating for new leadership to prevent a potential Trump return.
