Saudi Arabia: Seizure of an attempt to smuggle more than 3.6 million Captagon pills in Jeddah Port

The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority seized an attempt to smuggle more than 3.6 million Captagon pills at the port of Jeddah.

The authority indicated in its statement that the grains were found hidden in a shipment coming to the Kingdom through the port.

The authority explained that “a shipment was received through the Jeddah Islamic Port port, consisting of iron equipment,” and when it was subjected to customs procedures and examined through security techniques and live means, this quantity of grains was found hidden within the shipment.”

The Authority stated that after completing the seizure process, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seized items inside the Kingdom, where they were arrested, two people in number.
