Saudi Arabia announces execution of a citizen accused of joining a terrorist cell

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced today, Wednesday, the execution of a citizen for committing a terrorist crime, which was joining a terrorist cell and shooting at security headquarters.

The ministry said in a statement: “Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Abd Al-Jabbar, a Saudi national, committed a terrorist crime by joining a terrorist cell, firing on security headquarters, stalking security personnel, and informing terrorist elements of their movements, which resulted in targeting three security personnel. When he was referred to the competent court, a document was issued against him proving his conviction of what was attributed to him, and he was sentenced to death as a discretionary punishment. The ruling was upheld by his authority, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided by Sharia and upheld by his authority.”

She added: "The death sentence was carried out on Wednesday in the Eastern Province," stressing "to everyone the keenness of the Kingdom's government to establish security, achieve justice, and implement the provisions of Islamic law against anyone who attacks the innocent or sheds their blood, and violates their right to life. At the same time, it warns anyone who dares to do such a thing that the legal punishment will be their fate."
