Russian army destroys American rocket launchers used by Kiev forces to shell Sevastopol

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the army forces destroyed the American HIMARS rocket launchers used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out a terrorist attack on the city of Sevastopol on June 23.

The Ministry of Defense published footage of the destruction of the American-made HIMARS M142 missile launchers loaded with ATACMS missiles that had carried out a criminal strike by the Kiev regime on the city of Sevastopol on June 23.

"The drone operators of the Russian Armed Forces detected the movement and control of three HIMARS launchers in the forest belt near the village of Kalabaya, Kherson region," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added: "The crews of the Iskander tactical missile system of the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile strike on the hidden deployment sites of the American multiple rocket launchers. Three HIMARS launchers and ATACMS missile equipment were destroyed, and up to 10 foreign specialists operating the American multiple rocket launchers were killed."

On June 23, Kyiv forces launched  an attack  on civilian facilities in the city of Sevastopol using five American ATACMS tactical missiles equipped with cluster warheads.

While repelling the missile attack, Russian air defenses intercepted four missiles, and the explosion of the warhead of the fifth American missile in the air led to many civilian casualties in Sevastopol, where 5 people were killed, including two children.

According to the data, more than 150 people were injured with varying degrees of severity, 79 of whom were transferred to the hospital, including 27 children.

The Russian Defense Ministry said   that Washington and the Ukrainian authorities bear responsibility for the strike, as the flight missions of the American ATACMS operational-tactical missiles are controlled by American specialists based on their satellite reconnaissance data. The ministry stressed that such incidents will not remain without a response.

The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the US Ambassador to Moscow,  Lynn Tracy, following this terrorist attack, and informed her of its consequences.
