Dozens of Palestinians, including journalists, were killed and injured in new massacres by the Israeli occupation army in different areas of the Gaza Strip, while the Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression had risen to 38,098 martyrs and 87,705 injuries since October 7.
The ministry explained in a statement that the occupation army committed, during the past twenty-four hours, "3 massacres against families in the Strip, with approximately 29 martyrs and 100 injuries arriving at hospitals," noting that there are a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, where ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them due to the ongoing aggression.
Bombing in the middle of the sector
Medical sources said that "the number of martyrs in the central governorate since the dawn hours has reached more than 20 Palestinians."
Earlier today, Israeli warplanes bombed a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp (central), killing 10 Palestinians. The occupation also bombed a house in Wadi al-Salqa (central), killing two Palestinians and wounding others.
The Israeli artillery also targeted a number of sites in the central governorate, especially the northern and western areas of the Nuseirat camp, and the east of the Maghazi camp.
At the same time, the occupation military vehicles advanced east of Al-Bureij camp, while Israeli drones fired randomly behind Al-Bureij cemetery.
In the southern Gaza Strip, the occupation launched a raid on a target east of Al-Fakhari town, east of Khan Yunis city.
In Gaza City, a huge explosion occurred in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood (east). Local sources said that the occupation army continues to destroy a large number of homes in the neighborhood, leaving behind "huge destruction."
Israeli artillery shelled the eastern areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, while a helicopter fired randomly.
Targeting journalists
The Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip targeted a number of journalists, in a deliberate targeting to prevent the world from reporting the occupation's crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Field sources reported that 5 journalists were killed in Israeli shelling of different areas of the Gaza Strip during the last 12 hours.
For its part, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported in a brief statement that "the number of martyred journalists has risen to 158 male and female journalists since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, after the death of 5 journalists."
According to the office, the five journalists who were recently martyred are: “Director of Deep Shot Media Production Company Saadi Madoukh, journalist at the same company Adeeb Sakr, journalist at the Palestine Media Agency Amjad Jahjouh, producer and presenter of programs at the Islamic University Radio in Gaza Wafaa Abu Dabaan, and journalist at the Palestine Media Agency Rizq Abu Ashkian.”
Data and statistics from the Committee to Protect Journalists (a non-governmental organization based in New York) show that the war on Gaza has become the “deadliest for journalists” since the committee began documenting the killing of journalists around the world in 1992.
The International Center for Journalists, a non-governmental organization based in Washington, announced last February that the war on Gaza witnessed the highest levels of violence against journalists in 30 years, and called on Israel to stop killing journalists and investigate incidents of their killing by its forces.
