NATO sends manned reconnaissance aircraft to Black Sea region

NATO aircraft resumed reconnaissance flights over the Black Sea after a short break.

This was reported yesterday by the Russian online newspaper Voynaya Khronika, citing Telegram channels.

Russian military correspondents said that the American Boeing P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft took off yesterday from the Sigonella air base in Italy and at 1:00 p.m. refueled in the air over Romania, noting that the aircraft will then carry out radio-electronic reconnaissance missions. Two hours later, information appeared that the NATO reconnaissance aircraft group was supported by another aircraft.

The newspaper said that the British RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft, which took off from the Woodington base, was transferred to the Sevastopol area, in addition to the P-8A Poseidon.

However, the RC-135W Rivet Joint was spotted last week over the Black Sea in an area where US drones were flying that coordinated the missile attacks on Sevastopol.

It is noteworthy that American drones disappeared from the Black Sea airspace after the recent Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol.

It is worth noting that the Boeing P-8A Poseidon is a military version of the Boeing 737 passenger plane. There are more than 155 aircraft of this type around the world, and Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and India have purchased them, and they will soon be received by Germany, South Korea and Canada.

Its stay in the air is about 4 hours, at a distance of 2,230 kilometers from the air base.
