Myanmar : Over 13 million WY drug tablets were seized in Nay Pyi Taw

The military council announced on July 3 that more than 13 million WY drug tablets worth over 20 billion Burmese kyats were seized in Nay Pyi Taw, where the military council is headquartered.

It is said that since the arrest of two drug-carrying gang members in Nay Pyi Taw on June 25, the remaining nine members have continued to be arrested.

U Wai Min Phyo aka U Ohn Ohn Naing, who was among those arrested, is a former editor-in-chief of Eleven Media Group, according to people close to him.

In addition to identifying those involved and confiscating their assets, they will continue to take action in accordance with anti-money laundering laws, according to the statement.

According to the statement, the seized drug tablets were to be transported from Shan State to Yangon.
