Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was evacuated from the stage during a rally on Saturday after what appeared to be gunfire was heard during the event in Pennsylvania, according to press reports.

Trump had just begun his speech when gunfire rang out, and Secret Service agents responsible for the security of presidents and former presidents rushed to help him up and escorted him from the podium to his car. As he was being evacuated, Trump raised his fist amid cheers from his supporters.
"I'm fine and I'm getting checked out," Trump said after the shooting. A CNN reporter said Trump was fine and was taken to a local medical center for checkups.
The Secret Service confirmed that Trump is "safe" after the shooting, and that a full investigation into the shooting will be conducted and more information will be released as it becomes available.
It was Trump's last rally before the Republican convention, where he is set to formally nominate him as the Republican nominee to face Democratic rival Joe Biden in the November election.
The White House later said that President Biden had been briefed on the events that took place during Trump's rally.
