Losses to the occupation
In the context, the Palestinian resistance factions said in separate statements yesterday, Thursday, that their fighters targeted Israeli occupation army vehicles and soldiers in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades reported in various statements published on the Telegram platform that its fighters were able to hit an Israeli Merkava tank with a "Yassin 105" shell and detonate a "Shawaz" explosive device in another tank in the Sheikh Nasser area in Khan Yunis Governorate.
The Brigades reported that their fighters sniped an Israeli soldier in the Al-Zana area east of Khan Yunis Governorate, and in cooperation with the Al-Quds Brigades, they shelled an Israeli army force with mortar shells. The Qassam and Brigades’ statements stated that their operations led to the killing and wounding of a number of Israeli soldiers, adding that Israeli helicopters landed on more than one occasion to evacuate the wounded and injured.
In Rafah Governorate, the Al-Qassam Brigades reported that its fighters lured two forces from the Israeli occupation army into two tunnels and blew them up with the Israeli force, while the Al-Qassam Brigades announced targeting an Israeli bulldozer of the type "D9" with a "Yassin 105" shell.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced the death of a soldier in the ongoing ground battles in the southern Gaza Strip, and said in a statement, "Reserve Corporal Moti Rafi (37 years old), a soldier in the Givati Brigade, was killed in a battle in the southern Gaza Strip."
According to army data, the number of soldiers killed since the beginning of the war has risen to 688, including 328 in the ground battles in Gaza that began on October 27, 2023.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been waging a war on Gaza, resulting in more than 129,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring the two UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate halt to it, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.
