Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia has sufficient capabilities to respond to the deployment of long-range US missiles in Europe, but the likely victims will be European capitals.
"Of course, the United States has deployed different types of missiles, with different ranges, targeting our country, and accordingly we have designated the European regions where the missiles have been deployed as targets for our missiles," Peskov said in response to a journalist's question about whether Russia would respond to this.
He explained that the United States continues to make money while Europe is "in the range of missiles," adding: "Europe is now on the brink of a hole, history is repeating itself in different forms."
The Pentagon announced that the United States will begin deploying its long-range weapons, including hypersonic ones, in Germany in 2026.
The Pentagon explained that the weapons to be deployed will include SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles, in addition to hypersonic weapons currently under development.
