Singapore has become the holder of the most powerful passport in the world, surpassing France, Germany, Italy and Spain, as holders of this passport can enter 195 countries without an entry visa.

Bloomberg News Agency reported on Wednesday that owning a Singaporean passport means entering 195 countries without a visa, which puts Singapore at the top of the Henley Passport Index.

The four European countries France, Germany, Italy and Spain, which were in first place earlier this year, are now in second place alongside Japan, while seven countries are in third place for the first time, as passport holders from Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea and Sweden can enter 191 countries without a visa.

Britain came in fourth, while the United States dropped to eighth, continuing its 10-year decline on the index. The weakest passport in the world according to this index is Afghanistan, which allows entry to only 26 countries without a visa.
