Indian youth group bans non-exporting fuel from Rakhine state

Residents living in Mizoram said that on July 15, the Central Lai Youth Association (CYLA) in Delai village of Langthalai district, Mizoram state, banned nearly twenty diesel trucks from local traders who were going to cross the border from India and export them to Rakhine state.

Due to the fighting in Palatwa and Rakhine State in Chin State, internal trade routes are interrupted. That's why the locals said that the goods coming from India are being restricted.

Locals said that the Central Lai Youth Association (CYLA) is not a government organization, but it is an influential group in Laung Thalai District, so they can make such restrictions.

The CYLA group has restricted the transportation and export of goods since June 24. In their statement, they stated that the ban was imposed because the Armed Forces (AA) were building up their forces using goods from India.

On July 2nd and 5th, the CYLA group said that they did not allow the transportation of some non-exportable oil tankers to Rakhine State.

Residents of Paletwa Township and Rakhine State in Chin State are facing difficulties due to restrictions on the right to transport goods since the beginning of July.
