The Mexican League All-Stars beat the MLS All-Stars 4-1 on Wednesday in an All-Star match, with Argentine Lionel Messi and Uruguayan Luis Suarez absent.
The goals were scored by Argentines Herman Bertirami (17), Juan Brunetta (68), Maximiliano Mesa (69) and Moroccan Oussama Idrissi (41) for the Mexican team and Colombian Cucho Hernandez (17) for the American team.
Inter Miami players Messi and Suarez were not included in the league's updated roster for the match in Columbus, Ohio, due to Messi's ankle injury sustained in the Copa America final against Colombia, and Suarez suffering from knee pain.
The match was an opportunity for Messi, 37, to participate in this traditional confrontation for the first time since moving to Miami last summer.
Messi, who has won the Ballon d'Or eight times, led Miami to win the Copa Liga (American and Mexican), a tournament that brings together clubs from the United States and Mexico.
The 2022 World Cup and 2023 Copa America title holder also missed Inter Miami's last two league matches, but the team that tops the standings was able to win in his absence.
