Hebrew reports: Morocco to receive Israeli spy satellite worth $1 billion

Hebrew media revealed that Morocco signed an agreement with Israel to purchase a spy satellite from Israel Aerospace Industries as part of a deal worth one billion dollars.

The Hebrew website "Calcalist", which specializes in technology news, reported that Morocco will buy a satellite for intelligence purposes from the aviation industry for about one billion dollars.

Israel and Morocco are reportedly set to agree on the deal in late 2023.

Calcalist has learned that in the past few days, the head of Israel Aerospace Industries, Amir Peretz, traveled to Morocco via a European country to sign the deal, which has remained secret until now.

The company, which makes some of Israel's most advanced missile defense systems and drones, said the deal is scheduled to be implemented over five years.

The Moroccan news websites Le Desk and Le 360 ​​Reported quoted Israeli sources in Rabat as saying that the contract stipulates that the company will provide the Ofek 13 spy satellite, which will replace two satellites produced by Airbus and Thales.

In 2021, Israel and Morocco approved a defense agreement covering intelligence, cooperation in military industries and procurement.
