Hamas condemns Israeli attack on Hodeidah port today

Hamas condemned today, Saturday, the Israeli targeting of the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

An official statement issued by Hamas read: “We condemn in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli aggression on the sovereignty of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and the targeting of oil facilities and civilian facilities, including the port of Hodeidah and the electricity company located there, which resulted in a number of civilian deaths and injuries. We consider it a Zionist rampage and a dangerous escalation, in a desperate attempt to dissuade the free resistance forces in our nation from performing their sacred duty towards Jerusalem and the oppressed Palestinian people who are being subjected to a Nazi war of extermination.”

The statement stressed the movement's "full solidarity with the Yemeni people and the Ansar Allah group, and its appreciation for their courageous positions and their decisive decision to provide all means of support and assistance to the oppressed Palestinian people."

The movement held "Israel and the US administration fully responsible for the escalation witnessed in the region by continuing to provide Tel Aviv with political cover and open military support to commit the most heinous crimes and violations of all international laws."

In conclusion, it called on all Arab and Islamic countries and nations to “condemn this fascist aggression, unite, mobilize energies and engage in confronting Israel until it is expelled from the land of Palestine and the Arab lands and to protect the Islamic and Christian sanctities, foremost among which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

In the same context, Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat al-Rishq condemned today, Saturday, the Israeli targeting of the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

Al-Rashq said in an official statement: “Yemen and its people, especially the Ansar Allah brothers, are paying the price for their position of pride, honor, and defense of Palestine and the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to a Nazi war of extermination in the Gaza Strip.”

He added, "Israel will undoubtedly be burned by the fire that broke out in Hodeidah today, and the accumulation of Zionist crimes means changing the entire equation."

Al-Rashq concluded by saying: “May God accept the martyrs of the people in Hodeidah. These are the martyrs of Palestine and Yemen. May God heal their wounded and reward them for their heroism and bravery with the best reward. Yemen is from us and we are from Yemen.”

The Hebrew newspaper "Walla" reported, quoting an American official, that Israel launched raids on the Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

Yemeni media reported on Saturday evening that a series of large explosions were heard in the coastal city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea, west of Yemen.

Al-Yemen TV channel reported that the raids on the city of Hodeidah targeted oil storage facilities in the city's port, which resulted in a huge fire breaking out there.

Member of the Political Bureau of the Yemeni Ansar Allah Movement (Houthis), Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, warned that " Israel will pay the price for targeting a civilian facility " with its aggression against Yemen today, stressing that "escalation will be met with escalation."

The spokesman for the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis), Mohammed Abdul Salam, confirmed that the Israeli aggression on Yemen today, Saturday, " will increase our determination, steadfastness, and continuity in supporting Gaza in an escalating manner ."

The Israeli bombing came after threats of retaliation in response to a drone attack on Tel Aviv  claimed by the Houthis , which killed one person and injured others.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant vowed on Friday to make the Houthis "pay the price" for the attack, which was condemned by the United States.
