Hamas condemned today, Saturday, the Israeli targeting of the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.
An official statement issued by Hamas read: “We condemn in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli aggression on the sovereignty of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and the targeting of oil facilities and civilian facilities, including the port of Hodeidah and the electricity company located there, which resulted in a number of civilian deaths and injuries. We consider it a Zionist rampage and a dangerous escalation, in a desperate attempt to dissuade the free resistance forces in our nation from performing their sacred duty towards Jerusalem and the oppressed Palestinian people who are being subjected to a Nazi war of extermination.”
The statement stressed the movement's "full solidarity with the Yemeni people and the Ansar Allah group, and its appreciation for their courageous positions and their decisive decision to provide all means of support and assistance to the oppressed Palestinian people."
The movement held "Israel and the US administration fully responsible for the escalation witnessed in the region by continuing to provide Tel Aviv with political cover and open military support to commit the most heinous crimes and violations of all international laws."
In conclusion, it called on all Arab and Islamic countries and nations to “condemn this fascist aggression, unite, mobilize energies and engage in confronting Israel until it is expelled from the land of Palestine and the Arab lands and to protect the Islamic and Christian sanctities, foremost among which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
