German citizens who mistreat members of the LGBT community will be fined up to €10,000 for such offences, Die Welt reported on Tuesday.
The newspaper reported, citing an official document, that any German citizen who treats transgender people "inappropriately" will be fined.
According to the newspaper, the "self-identification" law will come into effect in Germany on August 1, whereby anyone can change their gender and name based on their personal desire through registration procedures.
Misgendering (using pronouns that do not match the way a person identifies themselves) can result in fines of up to ten thousand euros.
The newspaper quoted German officials as saying: "The fine will only be imposed in the event of intentional harm to a person by revealing his gender."
According to the newspaper, this issue of multiracialism is complicated for ordinary citizens because of the many races they must take into account in conversations.
She pointed out that in 2014, Facebook offered a choice of 60 genders, and since then their number has increased, as the newspaper indicates, Germans are no longer satisfied with the pronouns "he", "she" and "he/she", but it has now become necessary to know the "new pronouns" that were created specifically for non-traditional genders.
The newspaper concluded that Germans would have to "memorize an entire catalogue" of pronouns if they wanted to protect themselves from an accidental fine.
