Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that the fire raging in Yemen "is seen in the Middle East," indicating that it will be a "deterrent" to the rest of the fronts supporting Gaza.
Galant's statements came after airstrikes hit the Yemeni city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea coast in western Yemen, resulting in a number of civilian deaths and injuries.
Israeli warplanes targeted oil facilities in the port of Hodeidah, in addition to the power plant in the governorate, causing a huge fire that Yemeni firefighting crews are struggling to control.
These raids, attributed to Israel, come after a drone attack on the city of Tel Aviv, claimed by the Houthis, early Friday morning.
The attack resulted in the death of an Israeli and the injury of 11 others, while the Israeli army said that "the air force detected the drone that targeted Tel Aviv, but it was not intercepted due to human error."
