Fistfight in Chelsea vs Wrexham friendly

The friendly match between Chelsea and Wrexham took a heated turn within two minutes of its start, as everyone on the pitch had to intervene to break up a clash between Chelsea defender Levi Colwill and Wrexham striker James McClean.

The match had barely reached the second minute when the Levi's Stadium in California witnessed an "action scene" in front of the eyes of Hollywood star Rob McElhenney, one of the owners of the English third division club Wrexham, and its heroes were Colwell and MacLean.

The fight started with a violent intervention by McLean against Colwell, which angered the latter and was the spark that sparked the violent altercation that developed into a fistfight that only ended with the players intervening and Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson coming down to the field to help separate the players.

Despite the intensity of the altercation, the referee chose not to issue any cards because the match was friendly and neither player received any other penalty.

The match, which was held early Thursday in California, ended in a 2-2 draw, and Chelsea began their American tour in preparation for the new season, where they are scheduled to play against Celtic, Club America, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
