First medal awarded at the Paris Olympics

Kazakhstan became the first country to win a medal at the Summer Olympics in Paris, taking bronze in the 10m mixed team shooting competition.

Kazakhstan took the bronze thanks to Alexandra Lu and Islam Satbayeva, who beat German duo Anna Jansen and Maximilian Ulbrich in the third-place match.

The Kazakh team won the match with a score of 17-5.

South Korea will face China for the gold medal later on Saturday.
