Expert warns of consequences of sleep disorders

Anastasia Lebedeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Nutrition at the Russian Biotechnological University, warned of the consequences of sleep disturbance.

The expert explained how the sleep system affects the human body and what health problems its reorganization can lead to.

“A healthy person’s sleep can last 7-8 hours, but if it changes for various reasons, it will effectively affect the person’s condition, so regardless of the workload and emotions, he should always find time to sleep because the quality of a person’s work depends on the efficiency of his brain, which recharges after a state of complete rest,” she says.

According to her, people's sleep patterns vary depending on their circadian rhythms, so there is no single time to wake up and start resting. Some studies have shown that to improve health, it is necessary to sleep before 22-23 hours, but modern scientists are trying to study and determine the physiological characteristics of each person.

The expert points out that owls and larks have different nervous systems. That is, the brain of each one is active at a different time under the influence of hormones. The peak of the lark's body secretion (body recharging) occurs in the morning. The owl's brain wakes up later.

According to her, the owl's brain does not need to be rebuilt to resemble that of larks, and the same goes for larks, because interference with physiological characteristics can lead to high blood pressure and problems with hearing and vision.
