American businessman and billionaire Elon Musk warned on Saturday of the risks of using the WhatsApp application from Meta Platforms from the point of view of protecting user data.
“WhatsApp is not secure at all,” Musk wrote in a comment on a post by social media user X, which discussed the claim that WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption supposedly allows you to completely protect your correspondence.
Social media and communication app users said that WhatsApp is more secure, unlike the Messenger app, whose users receive online advertisements related to discussion topics in the app’s conversations.
Last April, the Wall Street Journal reported that the American company Apple was forced to remove WhatsApp and the social network Threads, owned by Meta, from its app store in China at the request of the authorities of the People's Republic of China for reasons related to national security.
