The draw for the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, which was held today, Thursday, in Johannesburg, South Africa, resulted in a strong group for the Egyptian national team.
The draw was held with the participation of 48 teams competing for 24 qualifying tickets for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The 48 teams participating in the 205th Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Morocco were divided into 12 groups, each containing 4 teams. The first and second place teams from each group will qualify, except for Morocco’s group, which has already qualified for the finals as the host country.
The draw resulted in a strong group for the Egyptian team, which includes another Arab team, Mauritania, in addition to the Cape Verde and Botswana teams.

Group 6: Ghana - Angola - Sudan - Niger
Group 7: Ivory Coast - Zambia - Sierra Leone - Chad
Group 8: DR Congo - Guinea - Tanzania - Ethiopia
Group 9: Mali - Mozambique - Guinea-Bissau - Eswatini
Group 10: Cameroon - Namibia - Kenya - Zimbabwe
Group 11: South Africa - Uganda - Congo - South Sudan
Group 12: Senegal - Burkina Faso - Malawi - Burundi.
The qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco will start next September, and 23 teams will qualify for the continental finals in addition to the host country, Morocco.
