Dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded in an Israeli occupation massacre in Khan Yunis, south of Gaza

Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation army bombed the Al-Mawasi area, classified as "safe", west of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of 71 Palestinians and the injury of 289 others, according to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that the occupation warplanes launched several successive raids with five missiles targeting the Al-Mawasi area, which is crowded with displaced people, leading to the martyrdom of dozens of citizens whose bodies arrived at Nasser Medical Complex, and more than 100 injured, including serious cases.
She added that the occupation army is committing a major massacre by bombing the camps of the displaced in the Nus area in Khan Yunis, which left more than 100 martyrs and wounded, including members and officers of the Civil Defense, according to a preliminary toll.
She pointed out that there are no hospitals that can receive this large number of wounded and bodies of martyrs, in conjunction with the occupation's destruction of the health system in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, reported the arrival of "dozens of martyrs and wounded as a result of Israeli shelling that targeted the Al-Mawasi area, which Israel classified as safe, west of the city of Khan Yunis," adding that "the area that the Israeli occupation army bombed is crowded with tents for tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians, and the majority of the victims are children and women."

Eyewitnesses also said that Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids on the "Nass Roundabout" area, located within Al-Mawasi.

During the past months, the Israeli occupation army called on Palestinians to head to the Al-Mawasi area, claiming that it was "safe", but it targeted, more than once, the tents of the displaced in the area, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of people, amid Palestinian and international condemnation.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with American support, leaving more than 126,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.
