Apple releases test versions of its smart device operating systems

Apple has announced the release of test versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 for iPhones and iPads.

Apple indicated that those wishing to test the new versions can download them by going to the “Settings” menu on the device, then clicking on the “General” option, then the “Software Update” option, and then the “Download and Install” option.

Apple noted that the test versions of these systems may contain some software errors that may cause the devices' batteries to drain, so it is preferable to download them to a spare device, or create a backup copy of the operating system on the device before downloading the new version of the system.

Apple had previously indicated that iOS 18 systems will bring users a number of new features, and will provide user interfaces through which icons and program shortcuts can be better controlled, and will include additional security features to enhance data protection.
