Announcing the 2030 World Cup stadiums sparks great anger

The announcement by the newspaper "Marca" about the stadiums chosen by Spain to host the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-organized by Morocco and Portugal, has sparked anger.

The Madrid newspaper announced that 11 stadiums in Spain will host the competitions, most notably the stadiums of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Espanyol, Bilbao and Sociedad, and witnessed the absence of the famous "Mestalla" stadium of Valencia, or any stadiums from the city.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain after the capital Madrid and then Barcelona, and includes the club of the same name, which is considered one of the biggest names in Spanish football, in addition to Villarreal and its stadium "La Ceramica", but the two stadiums were not included in the plan according to "Marca".

Critics and the public attacked the choices and accused the organising committee of favouring the big clubs and ignoring the city and fans of Valencia, despite the great popularity of football and sports in general.

The Santiago Bernabeu is expected to host the tournament final, according to recent reports from Spain, while the opening will be played at the National Stadium in Montevideo, which will host the first matches of the 2030 World Cup, on the occasion of the anniversary of the first edition in 1930.
