Algeria Accepting the files of 3 candidates for the presidential elections

Mohamed Charfi, head of the National Election Authority in Algeria, announced on Thursday the acceptance of 3 files and the rejection of 13 others to run for the September 7, 2024 presidential elections.

Mohamed Charfi stated that Abdelmadjid Tebboune's candidacy file was accepted, as 482,533 individual signature forms were submitted by voters distributed across 58 states and abroad.

He stated that 416,320 applications were accepted and 66,213 were rejected.

He stated that 18,600 individual signature forms were submitted by elected officials distributed across 58 states and abroad, 18,095 of which were accepted, 188 forms were rejected (cancelled), and 323 were duplicated and cancelled.

The head of the National Elections Authority added that Oshish Youssef was accepted from the "Socialist Forces Front", as it was found that there were 1257 applications, 1250 of which were accepted and 7 of which were rejected.

Hassani Sharif's file was also accepted, as 87,586 individual signature forms were submitted by voters distributed across 50 states, 79,782 of which were accepted and 9,654 were rejected.

2021 forms were submitted for the electors in favor of the candidate Abdelali Sharif Hassani, distributed across 50 states. 1986 of them were accepted, 35 forms were rejected, and two forms were cancelled in addition to 23 duplicate forms.
