Member of the Political Bureau of the Yemeni Ansar Allah Movement (Houthis), Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, warned that "Israel will pay the price for targeting a civilian facility" with its aggression today against Yemen, stressing that "escalation will be met with escalation."
Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti wrote on his page on the “X” platform: “Our military operations in support of Palestine will continue until the genocide crimes in Gaza are stopped and the siege on its residents is lifted, no matter the sacrifices it costs us, and victory comes only from God.”
He added: "The Zionist entity will pay the price for targeting a civilian facility, and we will meet escalation with escalation, and the consequences are for the righteous."
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman announced that Israeli fighter jets attacked targets in the Yemeni city of Hodeidah on Saturday evening.
The army said in its statement that the raids came in response to "hundreds of attacks on Israel in recent months," most notably a drone attack targeting Tel Aviv early Friday morning.
"There is no change in the Home Front Command's instructions so far," the spokesman added.
The Israeli bombing came after threats of retaliation in response to Friday's attack on Tel Aviv, which the Houthis claimed responsibility for , and which killed one person and wounded others.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant vowed on Friday to make the Houthis "pay the price" for the attack, which was condemned by the United States.
