A delegation from the State Duma will visit Algeria on Monday to strengthen Russian-Algerian relations at the parliamentary level

The Algerian National People's Assembly announced today, Sunday, that the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, will arrive in Algeria tomorrow, Monday, on an official visit.

The Council explained in an official statement that this visit aims to strengthen Russian-Algerian relations, especially at the parliamentary level.

The statement added that Volodin will hold negotiations with the heads of the two chambers of the Algerian parliament on issues of cooperation and parliamentary activity.

Earlier on Sunday, Volodin and the State Duma delegation paid a working visit to Latin America.

Earlier, Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said that a Duma delegation headed by Volodin would visit Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

 State Duma Deputy Leonid Kalashnikov also noted that the delegation will visit Algeria.

Russian-Algerian relations are distinguished by their depth and strength in several fields, including military, scientific, cultural and even strategic.

Earlier, Russian envoy for the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov stressed the depth of strategic relations between Algeria and Russia.
